Krav Maga clubs of Montreal
Krav Maga was developed in the 1930s by Imi Lichtenfeld and means “close combat” in Hebrew. It remained as a secret in Israel until 1964 when Krav Maga has been adopted by the American F.B.I., the Los Angeles Police and G.I.G.N.. Simple and effective, it is based on natural body reflexes. This is a self-defence martial art that can be learnt by everybody.
The FEKM (European Federation of Krav Maga) was founded in 1997 by Richard Douieb, officially delegated by the founder Imi Lichtenfeld Krav Maga to represent Europe. The FEKM now has over 17,000 members across 9 countries.
We are an organization that unites all member clubs of FEKM Quebec. FEKM-Québec chapter itself is a member of the FEKM, allowing us to ensure quality education in which students progressively learn different Krav Maga techniques and essential values, such as mutual respect and a sense of responsibility.
Self-defence is the essential part of Krav Maga and consists of techniques to defend yourself against a variety of attacks, such as punches, kicks, seizures, constrictions as well as armed attacks( stick, knife threats with firearms, …). The techniques can help you quickly terminate the battle with one or more attackers while keeping you safe.
Krav Maga is distinguished by its practicality which excludes any rules, and thus fears no competition. It is a modern defensive technique tested in real situations.
